In this greenhouse experiment, NutriSmart™ distinctly
demonstrated its benefits over conventional treatment in terms
of fertiliser efficiency, productivity enhancement, pollution
prevention and cost reduction. NutriSmart™ combined
with supplementary fertilisers achieved better yields for
the tested varieties of tomatoes and sweet peppers, and significantly
reduced conventional fertiliser input in agricultural production.
NutriSmart™ treatments generally indicated a yield increase
in the different varieties of tomatoes and sweet peppers under
trial by 8.2% and 40.1% respectively. It also reduced 34%
and 58% respectively of the total amount of conventional fertiliser
(NPK) used in the tested crops as compared to the grower practice.
Pro-longed usage of NutriSmart™ would improve soil quality
due to increased soil organic matter, improved soil physical
structure and aeration, and higher cation exchange capacity.
